Sport BTEC
Learners taking this qualification will study :

Learners will gain the knowledge and applied skills to work with different customers in sports development programmes, understand how best to impact participation and improve performance skills, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to be self-employed in the coaching and development sector.
How will I be assessed? (Assessment)
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport (720 GLH, equivalent to two A-levels) has been designed to occupy two-thirds of a full-time curriculum, enabling learners to develop a significant common core of knowledge. You will be assessed through various theoretical and practical assignments. This qualification does not have an external examination.
What kind of work will I do outside the classroom?
Students are expected to support extra-curricular sport and assistance in Sport/PE lessons. Students will have the opportunity to coach pupils from our Primary feeder schools through the multi-skills programme which we organise in conjunction with the Carmarthenshire leisure department, Actif.
What could I do at the end of my course? (Progressions)
Learners can progress to higher-education degree programmes, such as a BA (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Development and a BA (Hons) in Sports Management. Employment opportunities would be at all participant levels, from beginner to elite. Examples of job roles include community coach, elite sports coach, holiday sports coach, after-school sports coach.
Entry Requirements: GCSE English C, Maths C + portfolio of other qualifications.
